You are Blameless and Complete

By Sheryl Rajesh

We often go through life with the obsession of “being there”. We look at what other people have, or the way their life is and wonder ‘If only’ we were in their shoes!
If only I … was married
If only I … had that job
If only I … had a house
If only I … had that much money
If only I … had a child
Guess what! Sarah and Abraham felt the same way at one point in their lives.
Genesis 16 tells us the story of Hagar, the maid servant of Sarah. She despised Sarah because she bore Abraham’s son. Sarah, in turn, mistreated Hagar and so she ran away. On the way she meets an angel of the Lord who gives her a promise and tells her to go back and submit to her master. Hagar was obedient to the instructions and she returns to Sarah. And Ishmael was born when Abraham was 86.
I think, in the background, Sarah must have been continually speaking to Abraham about her sorrows of being childless. She must be articulating her desire to feel like a mother – every day when she saw Hagar and Ishmael she must be wondering about “being there“.
At this point I feel led to ask you a question.
Why does being there mattered so much to Sarah and Abraham?
Why does being there matter so much to us?
It matters, Yes it does. But it’s time to disarm the lie of the devil.
We have been telling ourselves If only we had what we desired… we would feel complete and no more be blamed or looked down upon by people.
God knows what you are going through, walk in Him – Blameless and Complete
Here is what God has to say about the two words “blamed & incomplete”.
When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to him and said, “I am God Almighty; Walk [habitually] before Me [with integrity, knowing that you are always in My presence], and be blameless and complete [in obedience to Me]. Genesis 17:1 AMP
Be encouraged, nothing or no one can make you feel complete, only God can.
Know that God does not blame you and that is what really matters.
From today, renounce every lie that has been spoken over your life. Renew your mind with the Word of God and choose to believe and speak God’s thoughts over you.
Tell yourself “you are blameless and complete in Jesus”.
