Worried About Your Future? Here’s How to Overcome (Part 2)

In our previous blog, we saw how focusing on our natural circumstances can make us fear our future and speak that language of fear.
(If you missed it you can read it here.)
Today, let’s look at another trap the enemy uses to keep us bound in the fear of the future.
Isaiah 43:19 says, “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?”
God wants to do something new in your life and God wants you to see it. But in order for you to see God’s plan for your future, there is a prerequisite that God gives you in the verse right above this.
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.” Isaiah 43:18
The reason why we are not able to see what God is doing is because our eyes are so focused on what has happened in the past. And for you to see what God wants to do in your life He is telling you to forget the former things. That’s a choice that you need to make.
Forget those wrong words that were spoken over you. Forget those hurts and trauma. Forget that pulling down of your soul that happened. Forget it because God wants to do something new in your life.
The reason why you are scared and worried about your future is because your reference point is your past. So every time God wants to take you ahead, you are looking at your past failures. God is saying forget it.
How long will you hold on to your past? Choose today, that if you are going back to your past, it will only be to pick up your testimonies of God’s goodness and faithfulness.
Let God’s goodness and His Word be your reference point and you will see that the fear of the future will have no more power over you.
Shalom.
Let God’s goodness and His Word be your reference point and you will see that the fear of the future will have no more power over you
