Recently I came across the following quote and was hooked on to it:

“He is a wise man who wastes no energy on pursuits for which he is not fitted; and he is wiser still who from among the things he can do well, chooses and resolutely follows the best.”

It gives two crucial reminders to all Kingdom Seekers:

1. Be wise enough to let go

When the first temple of the Lord had to be built, it was Moses to whom God revealed the detailed plan, but the Lord chose a man by the name Bezalel and filled him with the spirit of God, with wisdom, understanding, knowledge and all kinds of skills to execute the plan with the help of other skilled workers (Exodus 31: 1-6).

Each one of us has a different calling on our lives. Though Moses was anointed, he could not replace Bezalel and nor could Bezalel run after Moses’ call.

Be wise enough to pursue what you are called for.

Ask God to take away pursuits, desires and dreams in your life growing from the seeds that are birthed in your fickle mind and not in your spirit.

That’s when your insecurity,  frustration and dissatisfaction will disappear.

That’s when you will see yourself flowing in His grace.

The Bible says in Proverbs – If you are wise, your wisdom will reward you. So choose to be wise.

2. Be wiser enough to choose the best

Once you have finished sorting out the above, be relentlessly focused on what the Holy Spirit is further leading you to.

You may be an excellent worship leader, speaker and writer. But ask the Holy Spirit for wisdom to choose what He wants you to dig deep into. And when you know, sharpen that gift  – that’s where you will see the anointing of God flow through your life and impact the world around you.

Time is short.

Be wise and then wiser.
