I remember in my high school and college days, I always loved to write with ink pens. When it was time for me to appear for my boards, a lot of my friends suggested me to switch to ball pens instead. “With ink pen you always run a risk. One drop of water on your answer paper by mistake and your hard work is gone!” I was advised.
I still gave all my papers using my ink pen.
My problem was that I was used to it.
When young David was getting ready to fight his battle with Goliath, Saul put his coat of armour on him and a bronze helmet on his head. But when David tried walking around, he struggled. Reason? David said: “I cannot go in these because am not used to them.” ( 1 Samuel 17: 38,39). David was so used to fighting his battles depending on God, whether it was the lion, bear or Goliath, that he could not depend on any other weapon that the world had to offer.
What are you used to?
Friends? Television? Mobile? Ipad? Facebook? Job? Money? Ministry?
Listen dear reader,
- What you get used to never happens in a day, but when you do it over and over again
- What you are used to shows where your trust is
- What you are used is what you are comfortable with
- What you are used to is what you will depend upon on the day of your test
- What you are used to is what is difficult for you to let go
GET USED TO GOD. Period
