What Causes You to Truly Repent?

Do you know what causes a child of God to truly repent?
Sometimes we equate making a desperate prayer or an offering to repentance.
But Romans 2:4 says, “Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?”
It’s God’s goodness and kindness that leads you to true repentance.
The rest is just the flesh trying to get out of a situation.
As we have entered a new year, meditate on God’s goodness to you right from the time you were a child until now.
You will begin to weep and return back to him.
True repentance is when the prodigal remembers the Father’s house and His love. That’s when he stops playing with pigs and uncleanliness and returns home.
As you remember God’s goodness and come to true repentance, He will wash you clean, put new garments on you, place a ring of authority back in your life, and hold a banquet for your return.
You will be part of it and all heaven will rejoice with you.
