27 May is a day in my life that I will never forget, because it’s a day that reminds me of God’s faithfulness and protection over those who put their trust in Him. Six years ago on this day, I was leaving to work on my motorbike and little did I know that I would encounter God’s supernatural protection and see his servants (angels) in action protecting and defending His children.
On my way to work I had to pass through a road which had been recently concretized by the BMC. They had laid a huge underground canal for the storm water drainage system in preparation for the coming monsoon. While I was riding, ahead of me was a huge overloaded dumpster truck carrying more than 2 ½ tons of scrap concrete and rubble. As we reached this road and the truck was passing over this underground canal, the entire road caved in on itself as it could not take the weight of the truck. At first I thought it was an earthquake because I saw the road cave in on itself. I slammed my brakes immediately and managed to halt about 4 -5 feet away from the hole.
What I never anticipated was that the truck driver lost control since only the front wheels managed to make it over the canal, the rear wheels rammed into the hole and this pulled the truck backwards due to its load of concrete and within a split second I found myself looking upon the shadow of the rear end of the truck as it slammed on top of my bike giving me no chance to escape.
You cannot imagine the fear that gripped me as I was watching a fully loaded truck literally fall on me, my hands froze and my heart fainted. Before I knew, the entire rear of truck had slammed on me. I was hit on my collar bones, shoulder and hands and I heard a blast from my petrol tank which was full to capacity.
At that very moment I felt two supports under my arms which instantly lifted me up and carried me back about 10 feet from the accident. It was in a flash and I could not believe my eyes. I stood starring at the sky and I turned and looked around there was no one just me all by myself. I dusted myself and began to walk towards my bike. It was swarming with people shouting “Mar Gaya Mar Gaya truck ke neche margaya: police ko bulao, Ambulance ko bulao“.
I began to wonder is it really me in the flesh or am I in the Spirit now while my body lay crushed under the truck! I ended pinching myself to reality, I walked up to the people and told them I was the rider of the bike and I am saved by my Jesus. They asked me to check and see if I was bleeding or if there were any broken bones. As God as my witness, I had red marks on my chest, collar bones and shoulders to indicate the exact points where the iron rear of the truck hit me. But praise be to God, not one broken bone not a single scratch or a drop of blood was lost — truly a miracle of His unconditional love and protection (Psalm 91:11).
Also the Bible says that “In all things God works all things for the good of those who love Him who are called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28). Just to let you know my dear readers though this accident God brought a young mechanic Gajanan who accepted the task to reconstruct my bike from scratch. As he began to work on the bike I told him of God’s love and how Jesus died for his sins so that he could have eternal life and freedom from every sin, sickness and addiction in Jesus name. And these were his words in response “I was waiting all my life for someone to tell me how to get rid of my sin”. Gajanan soon led his whole family to Jesus.
Hallelujah!! Our God meets everyone at their point of need! And by the way, here’s the new reconstructed bike that God gave me, (which I still use till date). It was due a service anyway!
