Jeremiah, our little one turns one today!
Oh, what a joyful journey parenthood has been for us, and we can’t really thank God enough for this blessing in our lives.
Every day Jeremiah comes up with new things that really amuse us and bring laughter in the house. But there is one habit of his that really scares our wits out — All of a sudden Jeremiah often decides to throw his hands in the air and fling behind!
Now this is really frightening because not always we are prepared to cushion his fall. But our little son is really not bothered whether there is a mattress under him or whether his parents are in a proper position to catch him! In fact so many times we are caught off guard and have to instinctively dive behind him to prevent him from getting hurt.
Reminder of childlike faith
As scary as it may seem, it also reminds me of the beauty of a childlike faith. In the trials of our life, the best thing we can do is to fling ourselves in the hands of our heavenly Father. (ClicktoTweet) When we as earthly parents are so careful to see that our child is secured from hurts, how much more concerned our heavenly Father will be?
Derrick and I may at times fall short of our son’s expectations, but our Father God always watches over us. He is always prepared to carry us when we fall into His arms by faith — all the way till we reach our destiny!
Do not be terrified, do not be afraid of them. The Lord your God, who is going before you will fight for you, as he did for you in Egypt, before your very eyes, and in the desert. There you saw how the Lord your God carried you, as a father carries his son, all the way you went until you reached this place.” (Deuteronomy 1:29-31, emphasis mine)
Let me end this post with this beautiful song – If He carried the weight of the world upon His shoulders, I know my brother that He will carry you through!
