Kim: I remember recently I was about to speak to a group of drug addicts about God’s love. I was asking the Lord, “What should I share?” and was thinking of all ways in which I could mentor them to give up their addictions. That’s when the Holy Spirit told me to just tell them “As I am, so are they (1 John 4:17).” Wow, we are just like Him, beyond condemnation – That’s the most powerful revelation that a child of God can have.
Derrick: Once a child of God begins to function from the revelation of who he is, and what God has done for Him, he will never be bound. In the spirit, we are exactly like Jesus with no guile and perfect in the sight of our Father. This song is to remind you of who you are! God calls you a son, and that’s who you are. This also means you don’t have to try to become like Him, because in the spirit, You = Him.
