Hunger or Craving?

By Kim D’souza
By Kim D’souza
The Lord does not let the righteous go hungry, but he thwarts the craving of the wicked (Proverbs 10:3).
Are you hungry for God or are you craving for Him? There is a huge difference.
Craving is a temporary urge, an emotional trigger.
Craving is a desire that fades away as quickly as it comes.
Giving in to cravings can lead to an unhealthy body and lifestyle.
A Christian that craves for God is emotionally triggered. For Him, God is an option, mostly on weekends or on rainy days.
On the other hand, hunger is real.
Hunger is birthed out of a desperate need.
Hunger intensifies with time
Hunger places a demand.
Hunger is shameless.
Hunger benefits a body and make it grow.
Craving says: I want. Hunger says: I cannot do without…
Craving says: I want…
Hunger says: I cannot do without…
Majority of us are craving for God and His kingdom, but God promises to fill our hunger and not our craving. Another version of Proverbs 10:3 says, The Lord satisfies the longings of all his lovers, but he withholds from the wicked what their souls crave. (TPT)
Hunger always attracts God. The word of God says Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled” (Matthew 5:6)
