We all like to win. Isn’t it?
But have you tried losing and that too when you could have won easily?
If you have ever run a race with a child you will know what I am taking about.
The race begins and in a split second you effortlessly take over. Your little opponent is nowhere near. But just as the cut-off line was in sight, you intentionally slow down, to see the little one move past you. He wins the race. The joy on his face was worth it all. Nothing else mattered.
Sometimes in life when you are running, you got to run to lose. Because that shows that you are not running for your ‘self’, but for others. That shows that you are running to make God happy.
Look at Jesus. He, being God could have easily summoned an army of angels for His help and win the race for us. But Jesus was running to make God happy. He was running for you and I and He chose instead to slow down. In accordance with God’s will, He lost Himself to the point of becoming ‘nothing’. But Halleluiah! The end result was an eternal triumph for humanity!
Dear mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, husbands, wives, pastors, leaders, employees – if nothing else is working for you at this moment, try losing.
Try losing that argument to your spouse. Try losing that dream that you held on to for so long. Try losing that desire to God.
It is a decision you make. It may not be easy. It may even be painful but may be your breakthrough is hidden in that.
Remember when you lose according to God’s will (emphasis added), God will win it in the end for you!!
