(By Derrick)

I remember the day my 8 month old son Jeremiah broke down with a fever and flu after receiving his prescribed  inoculation. It broke my heart to see him struggling with the fever as it kept mounting with every passing hour. Everyone kept telling me how this was part of the routine side effects one should expect whenever children were administered these vaccines.

I remember during one of those high fever nights, his voice was so faint and weak we could barely hear him cry.  Every time he coughed he would cry due to the pain caused by the infection in his throat.  The best thing was to try to put him to sleep, however that too was not working as Jeremiah was coughing at regular intervals. The vaccination had made him so weak and he had lost all appetite for anything.photo

At this point I remember holding my son in my arms and walking to and fro in my house holding him close to me. All of a sudden going with the emotions I uttered a foolish statement.  I said “My son if I could, I would gladly take all your pain and remove every tear from your eyes.”

Right then, I heard the sweet Holy Spirit speak, “Son that’s exactly what we’ve done”.

1. The Father, Son and the Spirit looked at the sons and daughters of men covered in sickness, pain and oppression, laid by the weight of sin and death (Romans 6:23).

2. The Father with tears in His loving eyes, said “We need to redeem fallen mankind and restore it back to its rightful place so that men may have eternal life once again” (John 3:16)

3. Jesus, then stood and said, “Here I Am Father, I will do your will and pay the price for sin, death and sickness” (John 4:34).

The rest is His-story!!

This was enough revelation for me, I repented and stood in the righteousness provided for me by Christ and rebuked my son’s fever and the pain. Within a few hours his health was restored.

My beloved, here is where we all miss the beautiful work of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who came not only to redeem us from darkness (give us eternal life) but has also provided us with all the blessings we will ever need to triumph, prosper and conquer all that comes our way in this life. For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins (Colossians 1:13-14). And it is His joy that we should have the keys to the kingdom here and now on this earth and forever more.

My beloved, do not relent.

Do not give up or do not give in.

But press on till you enjoy in your life all that Jesus paid with a price!!
