Stop Owning Thoughts That Aren’t Yours

Do you know that not all thoughts are yours? Do you know that demonic spirits can implant thoughts in your mind?
When the enemy gives thoughts that make you condemned, guilty or tempt you to sin, most people cannot discern it’s the enemy.
Why? Because it will always come to you as your own thought! You cringe and wonder how you could have such a lustful thought or a desire right after praying.
Apostle Paul says in Romans 7:17-18,
“So now it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells within me. For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh. For I have the desire to do what is right, but not the ability to carry it out.”
That means the enemy can work through the flesh and your members and give you impure thoughts of discouragement, pride, lust, etc.
But Romans 8:9 says – You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you.
So, since you are in the spirit, don’t take ownership of the thoughts that satan places in your mind through the flesh.
Yeah, satan knows your past, so yes, he can bring old memories. But you are a new creation, the old is over, the new has come (2 Cor 5:17).
So know that such thoughts are not your thoughts but his demonic thoughts being planted in your mind to keep you from walking with God victoriously with the new man God has given you. (Read Eph 4:22-24)
Child of God, don’t take ownership of the thoughts he implants in you and be destroyed. The Bible says, submit to the Word, resist him, and he will flee from you (James 4:7). Laugh at his thoughts and keep walking with Christ. When you do that you are walking in the warrior mindset.
The life of a warrior means you learn to discern the thoughts of your enemy. This season you have the grace to overcome. So fight well.
