Preparation That Hosts the Power of God

Many people come to a service seeking healing, breakthrough, and deliverance, yet few can confidently say they were touched by the hand of God. Jacob said in Genesis 28:16-17, “Surely the Lord is in this place, and I did not know it. And he was afraid and said, “How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven!”
In today’s time the house of God would be known as the Church.
The difference between going to church and receiving a touch from Jesus lies in the preparation you make before meeting Him.
Many believers come with requests but never prepare their hearts and minds to receive. They arrive distracted, hurried, unconsecrated, and spiritually unready. They are like the crowd that surrounded Jesus and pressed against Him. Many touched Him, but only the woman with the issue of blood received the miracle.
The power of Jesus was available to everyone, but only one person had prepared herself to contain it. Preparation keeps you ready for the power released through an encounter. Without preparation, the power flows and returns to its source.
A live electric wire carries power, but its effect is experienced only when a circuit is completed through a conducting material. In the same way, the Word carries God’s power in every service, but intentional preparation, meditation of the Word, and consecration creates the capacity for that power to flow through you.
The woman with the issue of blood did not approach Jesus casually. Under the purification laws for uncleanness in Leviticus 13 and 15, coming into public required careful planning. She prepared herself for an encounter, and when she touched Jesus, He stopped and asked, “Who touched Me?”
Power does not flow because of proximity. It produces healing, deliverance, and breakthrough where preparation has created the capacity to host it.
The crowd will always make contact with the altar, but only the prepared will contain its power. Even the early Church remained in the upper room until they were filled with the Holy Spirit.
Prepare yourself to become a vessel of honour, sanctified and useful for the Master, “prepared for every good work” (2 Timothy 2:20–21).
Shalom.
